Are anti-wrinkle injections giving away your age?

Anti-wrinkle injections have been used for many years to decrease the appearance of fine lines and and wrinkles by relaxing the targeted muscle.

Skin initially develops dynamic lines which only appear when the muscle underneath moves, such as laugh lines around the eyes from smiling. These lines are initially only present when we smile, but over time the lines become permanent and are then referred to as static lines.

Anti-wrinkle injections eliminate dynamic lines and lessen the appearance of static lines.

Does this Treatment hurt?

Anti-wrinkle injections are generally not a painful procedure.

What is the recovery time?

The treatment takes about 30 minutes and there is no downtime. You may have minimal bruising and bleeding but will start to notice the effects in about 3 to 14 days. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled two weeks after the treatment, to evaluate or review your final results. Additional injections can be administered at the review appointment if needed.

Following the injections you should remain upright for a minimum of four hours, and alcohol and exercise should be avoided for 24 hours.

Please note: This procedure is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

How long will my results last?

Your results will typically last for three to four months.
